Shergold Guitars launches Telstar Standard 12-String electric guitar

Shergold Guitars announced the release of the Telstar Standard 12-String electric guitar, designed in the United Kingdom by luthier Patrick James Eggle. The instrument builds on the company’s historic 12‑string lineage, recalling the 1970s double‑neck model once played by Genesis bassist‑guitarist Mike Rutherford.

The new model features a solid poplar body, maple neck, laurel fingerboard and a fixed bridge with a 6‑string‑through‑body and 6‑string‑through‑bridge arrangement, offering 12 individually adjustable saddles for stable tuning. Twin FilterSonic humbuckers provide clarity and output, while a three‑position selector and master volume/tone controls give a versatile tonal palette. Marketing manager Rob Bennett said the guitar is intended to inspire players to “explore where the instrument can go next.” The Telstar Standard 12‑String is offered in Champagne Gold and Black finishes at a retail price of £409 and is available through Barnes & Mullins.
