Sheridan defeats West Memphis 67-29 in conference opener

Sheridan secured a 67-29 victory over West Memphis in their 6A-East Conference opener. The win was driven by a dominant rushing performance in the first half and a strong passing attack in the second.

Senior running back Zay Stephens recorded 303 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries, while also contributing 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns. In the second half, quarterback Easton Barksdale threw touchdown passes on each of the first five possessions to extend the lead.

Sheridan coach Kevin Kelley noted that while West Memphis attempted to stop the run by loading the box, it allowed the team to exploit the passing game.
