Sherly Tjoanda honors late husband Benny Laos on birthday

North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda shared a personal tribute to her late husband, Benny Laos, on his birthday, August 8. In an Instagram post, she expressed the difficulty of longing for someone who will not return and noted how she has learned to live with the loss while becoming a stronger woman and mother.

Following Benny Laos's death in a speedboat fire in October 2024, the family has maintained a tradition of visiting his grave at San Diego Hills in Karawang every Sunday. It has been revealed that Sherly has prepared her own grave site directly beside her husband's to be buried alongside him in the future.
