Sheryl Crow announces music for Disney and Pixar’s ‘Cars: Lightning Racers’

Rock musician Sheryl Crow has announced her return to the ‘Cars’ franchise, writing and performing original music for the upcoming Disney Jr. series ‘Cars: Lightning Racers.’ During the Disney Experiences Showcase at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Crow performed the new theme song, ‘Built to Last,’ alongside her previous hit ‘Real Gone.’

Produced by Disney Television Animation in association with Pixar, the series is designed for preschoolers and families. It follows characters Lightning McQueen and Mater on new racing adventures in Radiator Springs. Crow has contributed a total of 10 original songs to the series.

Many original voice actors are set to reprise their roles, including Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen and Larry the Cable Guy as Mater. The series is scheduled to debut on Disney Jr. and stream on Disney+ in 2027.
