Sheza Alibi to contest Group 1 Might And Power Stakes

The mare Sheza Alibi is scheduled to compete in the Group 1 Might And Power Stakes at Caulfield, marking her first attempt at a 2000-metre distance. Trainers Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman have opted for this race to provide the horse with necessary conditioning following her victory in the Makybe Diva Stakes on September 12.

This strategic decision allows for a three-week preparation period before Sheza Alibi contests the Group 1 Golden Eagle (1500m) at Randwick on October 31. Trainer Peter Moody noted that avoiding the Toorak Handicap, which occurs on the same day as the Might And Power, prevents the horse from carrying excessive weight. Moody also indicated that gaining experience at 2000 metres will provide better racing opportunities in the future.
