Shibarium network remains operational despite claims of abandonment

A prominent Shiba Inu community member, Mazrael, has denied claims that the Shibarium Layer 2 network is non-functional or abandoned. The debate follows a sunset announcement from K9 Finance, a project previously based on the network.

K9 Finance developers claimed that since a hack in September 2025, neither Shibarium nor its explorer has operated reliably. In response, Mazrael stated that the network remains operational, citing active validators, archive infrastructure, and thousands of daily on-chain transactions.

Mazrael clarified that the dissolution of K9 Finance and the migration of its KNINE project to the Base network should not be equated with the shutdown of the Shibarium network itself. The community continues to build on the platform, and CCIP lanes with major chains remain live.
