Shibuya Bon Odori festival to receive first television coverage

The Nippon TV variety program ‘timelesz familia’ will feature its first television coverage of the Shibuya Bon Odori festival on September 6. The program explores the intense logistics of the event, which requires completing all preparations, the festival itself, and cleanup within a strict six-hour window.

To manage the rapid setup, organizers must transform the area in front of SHIBUYA109 into a massive dance venue in just 90 minutes following the implementation of traffic restrictions. The broadcast follows Yoshitaka Hara as he navigates the festival's complexities. Due to concerns regarding potential crowds, Hara was restricted from entering the main festival grounds directly and instead observed from a specially secured space at SHIBUYA109.
