Shibuya Koen-dori Gallery to host inclusive ‘Koen’ program for children

The Shibuya Koen-dori Gallery will host ‘Koen,’ a specialized program titled ‘Kids meet × Studio oowa,’ running from October 10 to November 8, 2026. The initiative aims to create inclusive spaces for children with diverse characteristics, specifically addressing how children with intellectual disabilities can more easily access venues like museums.

Developed in collaboration with Studio oowa—an organization led by photographer Hiroshi Kato that supports children with disabilities—the event combines expertise from special needs school teachers with the creativity of artists. The program features a variety of activities, including a space designed for relaxation, lectures, theatrical performances, and concerts. Specific events include a presentation on special needs teaching materials and workshops focused on emotional expression and communication.
