Shida Chiyo and Igarashi Yusa dissolve Japanese badminton doubles pair

On July 31, Japanese women's badminton players Shida Chiyo and Igarashi Yusa announced they are ending their doubles partnership, known as “ShidaGashi”. The announcement was posted on Shida’s Instagram and confirmed by their management firm AMD Sports International.

The pair, who won the All Japan Championships in December and previously earned a bronze medal at the World Championships, said the decision reflects differing views on the sport and future direction. Both expressed gratitude to supporters and indicated they will continue their individual careers.
