Shift Up confirms development of Stellar Blade sequel

South Korean developer Shift Up has provided updates regarding the development of the Stellar Blade sequel, titled ‘Stellar Blade Blood Rain’. According to the company’s Q2 2026 earnings report, development is “progressing smoothly,” though no official release window has been set. The studio stated they intend to secure sufficient development time to ensure a high level of polish before disclosing further details.

The sequel aims to amplify the combat mechanics of the original title while strengthening the narrative and world-building. Shift Up plans to self-publish the sequel to reach a global audience more effectively. While the original game was a PlayStation 5 exclusive, the studio has confirmed a Nintendo Switch 2 port of the first Stellar Blade is expected in the second half of 2026.

In addition to the sequel, Shift Up is working on several unannounced intellectual properties. This includes ‘Project Spiritis,’ described as an “AAA-class live-service title built on an ‘Eastern fantasy’ universe.” The studio expressed confidence in expanding its portfolio following the success of its initial release.
