Shifters play moves from London West End to New York

The Laurence Olivier Award-nominated play ‘Shifters’ has moved from London’s West End to a New York production at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Conceptualized by playwright Benedict Lombe and director Lynette Linton, the production is being recognized as a significant chapter in the canon of Black theater.

The non-linear narrative follows two former friends-turned-lovers, Des and Dre, who reconnect at a funeral. The story uses various vignettes to explore how time, upbringing, and individual dreams shape their relationship across different stages of life, from their teenage years to their 30s.
