Shiga Flower Merchants Association gifts Halloween decorations to schools

The Shiga Flower Merchants Association has donated colorful Halloween-themed floral decorations to elementary schools across Shiga Prefecture. The initiative aims to foster an interest in flowers among children and demonstrate the calming, healing effects of nature.

As part of the ‘Let’s Sow Seeds for the Future!! 10-Year Plan’ project, which began in 2021, local florists create original arrangements to present to nearby schools every year. This year, 25 shops participated, providing decorations to a total of 34 schools.

One such donation was made to Joto Elementary School in Hikone City by the florist Hanahiro. The arrangement featured 10 different types of flowers, including roses, carnations, gentians, and statice, combined with 24 pumpkins and various Halloween ornaments.
