Shiga Prefecture names high school swimming squad and launches Dragon Canoe race

The Shiga Prefectural High School Athletic Federation announced a 45‑member team – male and female swimmers plus a men’s water‑polo squad – to compete in the national Inter‑High swimming competition.

Yasu City and the local sports association will hold a Dragon Canoe tournament on 23 August at Ayame Beach on Lake Biwa. The event, returning after a three‑year hiatus, is open to team entries from the region.
