Japan hosts multiple community festivals and public events in July 2026

A series of community events are scheduled across Japan in July 2026.

In Dazaifu, Fukuoka, a free student forum on July 11 will address safety for foreign and Japanese students, focusing on new bicycle traffic rules that took effect on April 1 and basic crime‑prevention tips.

In Hakodate, Hokkaido, the "Earth Festival 2026" on July 12 will showcase international food, music, dance and activities from Indonesia, Korea, Africa, Hawaii, Papua New Guinea, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and others.

Shiga’s Aichi River Gion Summer Festival will hold its 142nd fireworks display on July 18, with anticipated crowding near the historic Aichi River bridge.

Isesaki, Gunma, will host the second "Station Fest" on July 12, offering live music, dance, yoga, a used‑book swap and food trucks.

Kawasaki’s Tamagawa‑ward will run the "Choko‑suzu" heat‑stroke relief campaign from June 1 to September 30, where a walking app rewards steps with points for local schools and offers QR‑code spots for cooling breaks.

Matsudo, Chiba, held a "Tanabata and Firefly Evening" on July 4‑5 with traditional decorations, food stalls and a firefly‑fundraising drive.
