Shikhar Mohan scores 85 on Duleep Trophy debut for East Zone

Shikhar Mohan, a 21-year-old batsman from Jharkhand, delivered a standout performance during his Duleep Trophy debut. Playing for East Zone against South Zone at Chennai's M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Mohan scored 85 runs off 120 balls.

Batting at number three, Mohan hit nine fours and three sixes, contributing to a 94-run partnership with captain Ishan Kishan. His innings helped propel East Zone toward a significant total during the first innings. Despite his strong play, Mohan was eventually dismissed by Chama Milind, narrowly missing a century.

Mohan has demonstrated consistent form in domestic cricket, having previously recorded 613 runs in 12 innings during the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season, including a double century against Nagaland.
