Shikuwasa 100 juice receives Three-Star award from International Taste Institute
Shikuwasa 100, a straight juice produced by Okinawa Bussan Kogyo Rengo, has received the highest “Three-Star” rating from the International Taste Institute. This award is granted to products recognized as “extremely excellent” in international food and beverage competitions.
The juice is made exclusively from Shikuwasa harvested in Okinawa. The production process involves juicing the fruit with the peel and using centrifugal separation to minimize impurities while preserving the fresh flavor. The company utilizes a specific blending technique to balance sweetness, acidity, and bitterness based on the harvest season.
The International Taste Institute, based in Brussels, Belgium, evaluates products through a blind tasting process conducted by a panel of over 250 chefs and sommeliers. Ratings are based on criteria including appearance, aroma, taste, and aftertaste, with the Three-Star rank reserved for products scoring between 90% and 100%.
