Shimada Shoji launches NODI smartphone shoulder strap

Shimada Shoji Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of ‘NODI’, a new smartphone shoulder strap under its bag brand Root. The product is designed to reduce shoulder discomfort caused by straps digging into the skin or applying constant pressure.

To achieve this, the strap utilizes Mitsui Chemicals’ ABSORTOMER® as a core material within the cord. This material is engineered to soften with body heat, allowing it to conform to the user's shape. It also features vibration-damping properties and stress relaxation, which helps reduce the tension felt when the strap is stretched.

NODI will be available for pre-sale at a POP UP SHOP in Yokohama Takashimaya from October 28 to November 3, 2026, priced at 8,250 yen. A full release on the official online store is scheduled for late November 2026. The product comes in six colors and three different lengths.
