Shimane Prefecture travel highlights include festivals and hot springs

Travelers have documented various experiences across Shimane Prefecture, highlighting the region's natural scenery, local cuisine, and seasonal events.

In the Matsue area, visitors noted the beauty of Lake Shinji and visited Matsue Vogel Park to observe diverse bird species, including the Shoebill and various exotic birds. Local culinary highlights included shijimi clam miso soup at roadside stations.

In the Iwami region, travelers explored Izumo Taisha and the coastal areas of Oda, Hamada, and Gotsu. Despite heavy rain causing the cancellation of traditional Iwami Kagura performances and Bon Odori dances, the Sekishu Hamakko Summer Festival proceeded with a display of 3,000 fireworks.
