Shimano launches DYNALAST 2.0 cycling shoe platform

Shimano has introduced DYNALAST 2.0, a significant evolution of its high-performance cycling shoe platform used for road, gravel, and cross-country disciplines. Developed through biomechanical research, movement analysis, and hundreds of 3D foot scans, the new platform aims to balance stability with increased comfort.

The redesign focuses on the forefoot area, allowing toes to expand more naturally during power application to reduce pressure points. While maintaining a secure fit in the heel and midfoot for efficient energy transfer, the new system offers three distinct width options: Narrow, Standard, and Wide.

The Standard Fit maintains traditional midfoot and heel fitment but increases toe box volume by approximately 4% in a size 43. The Wide Fit provides a more substantial increase, featuring a toe box roughly 6 mm wider and 7% more volume than the previous wide version in a size 43.
