Shimizu Hobby Show to be held in Shizuoka City this August

The 4th Shimizu Hobby Show is scheduled to take place on August 29 and 30, 2026, in the Hinode district of Shimizu Port, Shizuoka City. Under the theme “See, Make, Move, and Play,” the event aims to expand the hobbyist community and promote the joy of manufacturing through collaboration between Shizuoka City and private enterprises.

The event will be spread across three main venues: the Shimizu Marine Building, Shimizu Marine Terminal, and Shimizu Marine Park. Participating manufacturers include Tamiya, Aoshima, Woody Joe, Hasegawa, Bandai Spirits, Fujimi Model, and Platz.

Key attractions include a special exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of Tamiya electric RC cars, featuring a collection of dozens of models, as well as Mini 4WD assembly and racing experiences. Other activities include model building workshops, plastic model contests, and a display of Japan Self-Defense Forces equipment at Shimizu Marine Park. The event is free to enter and does not require reservations.
