Shin Bet seeks censorship action over Netanyahu's UAE visit report
Israel's security service, Shin Bet, has filed a complaint with military censorship authorities against Kanal 12 following its report on a visit by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United Arab Emirates.
Netanyahu's office stated that the disclosure of the visit “put the lives of the Prime Minister and his wife at risk,” as well as the safety of the accompanying delegation, which included the head of the Mossad. The United Arab Emirates later confirmed the visit, noting it focused on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional challenges.
The reporting follows allegations that UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan had warned Netanyahu regarding the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, prior to the event. Netanyahu has denied these claims. According to Israeli media, the purpose of the recent trip was for the Prime Minister to seek a denial from the UAE President regarding those prior warnings.
