Shin Ji-eun Shares First‑Round Lead at LPGA Scotland Open
South Korean golfer Shin Ji-eun opened the LPGA Scotland Open with a six‑under‑par 66, recording seven birdies and one bogey to tie for the lead after the first round. She shared the top spot with American Lauren Coughlin on the challenging links course.
The performance puts Shin on a ten‑year trajectory toward a second tour victory after her 2016 Texas Shootout win. Fellow South Korean Kim Ah‑rim posted a 67 to finish one stroke behind in third place, while world‑number‑one Nelly Korda of the United States was 14th.
Shin said the course demanded precise tee shots, noting that her recent practice on a similar links layout in Sweden helped her start the tournament strongly.
