Shinano Railway announces 115 series train experience and photography event

Shinano Railway has announced the opening of applications for its ‘115 Series Shunting Experience and Photography Session’ scheduled for October 3, 2026. The event will be held in two parts: a daytime session and a nighttime session, both based at Tokura Station.

The daytime session runs from approximately 9:30 to 13:30, featuring the S11 and S3 formations of the 115 series. It includes photography opportunities at Tokura Station and the inspection line, as well as a shunting experience. The cost is 18,000 yen per person, with a capacity of 30 participants.

The nighttime session, restricted to participants aged 18 and older, runs from approximately 17:00 to 20:55 and features the S7 and S3 formations. This session includes photography at the inspection line and a shunting experience for a fee of 30,000 yen per person, with a capacity of 20 participants.

Applications open on September 4, 2026, at 12:00 via the company’s website. Due to limited capacity, participants will be selected via a lottery if applications exceed the limit. A similar event is planned for November 14, 2026.
