Shinhan Bank launches loans for Ddenggyeo merchants
Shinhan Bank has launched a new credit loan product specifically for merchants using its win-win delivery application, ‘Ddenggyeo’. The product offers loans of up to 100 million KRW with terms ranging from one to three years via principal installment repayment.
The bank is utilizing approximately 1,100 data points from the ‘Ddenggyeo’ platform—including order history, sales, and coupon usage—alongside other alternative data to enhance credit evaluations. This brings the total number of data items used for assessment to roughly 1,700. Merchants who receive high evaluation scores may have their internal credit ratings raised by one level.
To qualify, businesses must have been open for at least six months and maintain a monthly average revenue of at least 10 million KRW over the previous six months. Eligibility also requires designating Shinhan Bank as the settlement account for ‘Ddenggyeo’ and Shinhan Card, or using Shinhan Bank for at least one major delivery platform's settlement account.
The service incorporates Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) technology to enable automatic repayments. When sales settlement funds are deposited into the merchant's account, the loan principal is automatically repaid according to the agreed terms, reducing the administrative burden on small business owners.
