Shinhan Bank partners with StoneX Payments to expand cross‑border payment services
StoneX Group Inc.'s Payments division has entered a strategic partnership with South Korea's Shinhan Bank, one of the country's largest financial institutions. The agreement integrates StoneX Payments' platform into Shinhan's systems, giving its roughly 29 million customers access to institutional‑grade cross‑border payment and foreign‑exchange services covering more than 140 currencies in 180 countries.
The collaboration leverages StoneX's network of over 385 banks worldwide and targets emerging‑market corridors in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, aiming to lower transaction costs and speed settlement for multinational corporations, import‑export firms and non‑profit organisations. "StoneX Payments offers something genuinely different: the depth of a comprehensive and time‑tested global infrastructure combined with the technology and agility our clients demand," a senior Shinhan spokesperson said. StoneX Global Head Thiago Vieira added that the partnership marks the company's 20th anniversary in Asia and underscores its commitment to growth in the region.
