Shinichiro Azumi apologizes for baseball broadcast error

TBS announcer Shinichiro Azumi issued an on-air apology during the program ‘THE TIME,’ to correct a factual error regarding a professional baseball game.

During a broadcast on May 17, Azumi corrected a statement made the previous day claiming that Chunichi Dragons pitcher Marah had hit his first home run of the season during a game against the Hanshin Tigers. Azumi clarified that Marah had actually hit his first home run of the season on May 20, making the recent hit his second of the season. Azumi noted that Marah remains the only pitcher in the Central League to have hit a home run this season.
