Hiroki Tsuzuki of Shishin referred to prosecutors for alleged nuisance ordinance violation
Hiroki Tsuzuki, a member of the popular comedy trio Shishin, has been referred to prosecutors for allegedly violating the Tokyo Metropolitan Ordinance on Prevention of Nuisance. The incident reportedly occurred in late June 2026 at an event venue in Tokyo, where Tsuzuki is accused of touching a woman in her 20s over her clothing. Tsuzuki has reportedly admitted to the allegations, stating that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Watanabe Entertainment, the talent agency representing Tsuzuki, issued a statement apologizing to the victim and announcing that Tsuzuki will be suspended from all activities for the time being. Consequently, the remaining two members of Shishin, Takumi Goto and Ryota Ishibashi, will continue the group's activities. The incident has had immediate professional repercussions, including the suspension of Tsuzuki's fashion brand, HIROKI TSUZUKI, and the temporary removal of certain related content from streaming services.
Public reaction has been largely critical, particularly regarding Tsuzuki's use of alcohol as an explanation for his behavior. While some figures, such as rakugo performer Sharaku Tachikawa, expressed disappointment in the incident, they also offered words of support for his potential recovery. The scandal has also impacted the group's radio appearances and broader media presence.
