Shinsegae and LG CNS expand global AI and advanced industry presence

Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin attended the launch of ‘Foundry School’ in Washington, D.C., an initiative led by the U.S. Department of State to cultivate talent in manufacturing and advanced industries. The event, which included U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, focused on strengthening the AI supply chain and the ‘Pax Silica’ strategy to reorganize technology supply chains among trusted allies.

Shinsegae Group is currently collaborating with Reflection AI on a strategic partnership to establish an AI data center in South Korea. This collaboration is noted as the first project under the U.S. Department of State’s ‘AI Export Program.’

In a separate effort to secure technological leadership, LG CNS President Hyun Shin-kyun met with graduate-level researchers from major U.S. universities, including Stanford and UC Berkeley, in San Francisco. The meeting aimed to recruit multidisciplinary talent capable of integrating AI, robotics, and various engineering fields to drive industrial transformation.
