Shinsegae Simon signs 660‑billion‑won land deal for Daegu premium outlet

Shinsegae Simon and its U.S. partner Simon Property Group completed a land‑sale contract with Daegu City, Daegu Urban Development Corporation and the Dong‑gu district for a 41,134 m² site in the Ansim New Town area. The transaction, valued at about 660 billion won, paves the way for a 42,900 m² premium outlet slated to open in the second half of 2028.

The outlet will host roughly 200 domestic and international fashion and food‑beverage brands and is expected to attract more than 600,000 visitors annually, creating over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs. Daegu officials have formed a one‑stop support committee to expedite permits, traffic‑improvement works and other administrative procedures, including road‑expansion projects around the site. The development is promoted as a catalyst for revitalising the surrounding commercial district and boosting the regional economy.
