Robb Report’s 2026 list of the 50 Greatest Luxury Hotels on Earth placed Nepal’s Shinta Mani Mustang at number one. The Bill Bensley‑designed retreat, opened in August 2023 in the remote Kali Gandaki Valley of Upper Mustang, offers 29 stone‑built rooms with mountain views and experience‑focused amenities such as horseback riding, Buddhist monastery tours and Tibetan healing rituals.

The ranking also placed Rwanda’s Singita Kwitonda Lodge second, Scotland’s Hope Lodge third and Japan’s Park Hyatt Tokyo fourth, highlighting a shift toward remote, adventure‑oriented properties. The top‑spot win is being hailed as a milestone for Nepal’s luxury‑tourism sector, underscoring the country’s ability to compete globally with distinctive, culturally immersive hotels.
