Shinzo Abe Memorial Corridor inaugurated in Varanasi
The Shinzo Abe Memorial Corridor was inaugurated at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre in Varanasi, India. The memorial serves as a tribute to the late former Japanese Prime Minister and his role in strengthening India-Japan relations.
Akie Abe, wife of the late Shinzo Abe, jointly inaugurated the corridor alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. During the ceremony, Akie Abe expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India, noting that the memorial honors her husband’s legacy and his 2015 visit to the city. She also remarked on the cultural similarities between the ancient cities of Varanasi and Kyoto.
Following the inauguration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Akie Abe, describing the late Japanese leader as a “visionary” who was instrumental in elevating bilateral ties between the two nations.
