Shiori Kubo shares Great East Japan Earthquake memories in special dialogue
To mark Disaster Prevention Day on September 1, JA Kyosai Ren released a video featuring a special dialogue between screenwriter Kundo Koyama and actress Shiori Kubo. The discussion focused on preserving the memories and lessons of the Great East Japan Earthquake as its 15th anniversary approaches.
Kubo, who was nine years old and living in Miyagi Prefecture at the time of the disaster, shared her personal experiences for the first time in such detail. She recounted the fear of being in school during the earthquake and the lasting impact of the event. Both participants emphasized the importance of preventing the disaster from becoming a forgotten historical event by treating disaster prevention as a personal responsibility and continuing to pass on individual experiences to future generations.
