Shirahata Tenjin Shrine to host autumn festival in Ichikawa

Shirahata Tenjin Shrine in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, will host a traditional festival on October 17, 2026. The event features a parade of Omiya mikoshi (portable shrines) accompanied by gagaku music, with participants dressed in traditional white robes and eboshi hats.

In the afternoon, children's mikoshi and floats will parade through the Sugano and Higashisugano areas. The festivities will conclude in the evening with various food stalls, including Indian curry, gelato, and popcorn, as well as offerings from the Sugano Elementary School Fathers' Association.
