Shirley MacLaine makes rare video appearance at age 92

At 92 years old, Oscar-winning actress Shirley MacLaine made a rare video appearance to promote a special screening of her 1969 musical film, ‘Sweet Charity’. The video, shared by the Southampton Playhouse on Long Island, features MacLaine reflecting on the production directed by Bob Fosse.

During the clip, MacLaine humorously addressed the film's historical commercial performance, stating, “I would like to see ‘Sweet Charity’ again. Now, while you’re watching it, remember how hard we worked. And between you and me, it didn’t do very well.”

The 1969 film, which featured a cast including Sammy Davis Jr. and Chita Rivera, was a box office struggle at the time of its release, though it received three Academy Award nominations. MacLaine, the older sister of actor Warren Beatty, has maintained a long career including a Best Actress Oscar for ‘Terms of Endearment’ in 1984. She was also recently honored with a lifetime achievement award at the inaugural Dance Hall of Fame ceremony.
