Shiromani Akali Dal demands CBI probe into Punjab CM office corruption

A high-level delegation from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), led by President Sukhbir Singh Badal, met with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria to demand a court-monitored CBI investigation into alleged corruption within the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

The party submitted a 300-page dossier containing evidence of an alleged corruption racket. SAD leaders claim that Rajbir Ghuman, an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and the Chief Minister’s wife, Gurpreet Kaur Mann, were involved in accepting a bribe of Rs 5 crore to shield an accused individual in rape and abduction cases.

Sukhbir Badal alleged that the state government is operating a “single-window service” for illegal activities, including land use changes and improper transfers. The SAD has called for the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Mann and has announced upcoming protests, including a demonstration at the Chief Minister’s residence scheduled for September 5.
