Shiv Sena (UBT) criticizes BJP’s new National Executive
The Shiv Sena (UBT) has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) newly formed National Executive, labeling it an ‘arrangement of convenience’ that lacks operational autonomy. In an editorial published in the party’s mouthpiece, Saamana, the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction alleged that the leadership structure exists primarily to execute the preferences of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The editorial questioned the seven-month delay in announcing the lineup following Nitin Nabin’s appointment as National President. It further claimed that the new executive bears little responsibility for electoral success, suggesting that the party relies on state machinery, law enforcement, and financial resources for ground management.
Additionally, the party raised concerns regarding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), citing international discourse on voting vulnerabilities, and criticized the appointment of Union Minister Piyush Goyal as the BJP’s national treasurer, citing potential conflicts of interest.
