Shiv Sena (UBT) protests Mumbai ground takeover and alleges corruption

Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders in Maharashtra are accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of corruption and political favoritism. Aaditya Thackeray led the ‘Maidan Bachao Tiranga Andolan’ protest in Mumbai to oppose the alleged takeover of the Neville D'Souza Football Ground, claiming the move is intended to benefit BJP associates. Party leader Arvind Sawant emphasized the need to protect open spaces for youth sports.

Additionally, the party’s mouthpiece, ‘Saamana’, has targeted the state administration over alleged financial improprieties. The editorial raised concerns regarding the quality of the school midday meal scheme in Ambegaon, Pune, where children were reportedly served substandard food. The party further alleged that the contractor involved in the meal scheme has ties to leadership and provided financial support for recent BJP youth outreach events.
