Shiv Sena (UBT) summons MPs to Delhi meeting amid internal party unrest

The Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena (UBT) has called a mandatory meeting of all its Lok Sabha members on Thursday, 18 June 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the party’s parliamentary office inside the Parliament House, New Delhi. The notice was sent by the party’s Lok Sabha chief Anil Desai, and attendance was described as compulsory.

A second gathering of the party’s legislators was scheduled for 22 June at 4:00 p.m. in Mumbai’s “Shivalay” building, with Uddhav Thackeray expected to guide the session. Earlier, MP Arvind Sawant wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, on Thackeray’s instructions, objecting to any recognition of dissenting MPs as a separate group or their possible merger with other parties. Shiv Sena (UBT) currently has nine MPs and nineteen MLAs.
