Shizuoka Prefecture to host science workshops for female students

Shizuoka Prefecture will host a series of science experience events for female elementary and junior high school students between November and December 2026. Part of a science talent development initiative operated by RePlayce, the program aims to encourage more women to pursue careers in STEM fields.

The events will be held across three locations: Numazu, Shizuoka (Shimizu), and Hamamatsu. Each session includes a talk session featuring researchers and entrepreneurs, followed by hands-on workshops tailored to different grade levels.

In Numazu, the event on November 3 will feature Natsuki Suganuma from Bacteria Co., Ltd. The Shizuoka session on November 29 will include Mari Iwase from Shizuoka Prefectural University, and the Hamamatsu session on December 13 will feature researcher Ayumi Kaneda from Kyowa Kirin Co., Ltd. Participation is free, though workshops are limited to 30 participants per session and selection may be via lottery.
