Shkodër court orders arrest of Andri Vulaj for murder

A first-instance court in Shkodër has ordered the pretrial detention of Andri Vulaj, a suspect in the killing of Ylber Luli. The incident occurred on September 8 in the ‘Kongresi i Përmetit’ neighborhood.

According to prosecutors, the conflict began at a local establishment in Shkodër following a verbal dispute. The confrontation moved to the victim's residence after Luli had requested that the suspect be brought to his home to resolve the matter. During the altercation, Vulaj allegedly sustained knife wounds to his face, neck, and arm. Following this, it is suspected that Vulaj used a small firearm to shoot Luli at close range, inflicting a fatal wound to the abdomen.

During court proceedings, Vulaj remained silent and provided no testimony to the police or the court. The victim's father, Qamil Luli, testified that he heard a quarrel in the yard and witnessed the confrontation, noting that the suspect was stabbed before Luli was shot.
