Shkodër police arrest multiple suspects in cannabis cultivation raids

Police in Shkodër, Albania, have conducted a series of operations targeting indoor cannabis cultivation, resulting in multiple arrests. As part of the fourth phase of the coded operation ‘Neonët’, authorities arrested a 22-year-old man in flagrante delicto in Vau i Dejës.

In a separate raid in Velipojë, police seized 308 suspected cannabis plants, 85 grams of dried substance, and 122 electrical devices used for cultivation. This operation also led to the legal processing of two OSHEE employees, aged 50 and 59, for ‘abuse of office’ related to the illegal use of electricity for drug production.

Additionally, Shkodër police located and arrested two individuals previously wanted by the prosecutor's office. These suspects, aged 28 and 25, are accused of producing and selling narcotics and stealing electricity. They had reportedly converted residential spaces in the village of Barbullush into indoor cultivation sites using specialized lighting.
