SHL enters broadcasting negotiations and key player contract updates
The Swedish Hockey League (SHL) is entering a period of significant administrative and roster movement. Negotiations have reportedly begun between the SHL and TV4 regarding a new broadcasting agreement to succeed the current contract that expires in 2030. The existing deal is valued at approximately five billion SEK, and discussions for a new five-to-six-year term are expected to maintain similar or slightly higher compensation levels for clubs.
In player news, Leksands IF has secured a long-term commitment from 20-year-old forward August Lissel. Despite reported interest from multiple SHL clubs, Lissel has signed a contract extension that keeps him with the club through 2030.
Additionally, Skellefteå AIK defenseman Viktor Grahn is facing an uncertain future. Although Grahn has expressed a strong desire to remain with the reigning champions, he is currently playing under an expiring contract, and concrete discussions regarding an extension have not yet been finalized.
