Shoalhaven City Council proposes management changes for Nowra and Milton showgrounds

Shoalhaven City Council has announced a proposal to amend the management categories for specific areas within the Nowra and Milton showgrounds. The changes aim to better reflect current community usage under the Local Government Act and are intended to support a broader range of recreational, social, cultural, and community activities.

At the Nowra Showground, the proposal involves changing the southern portion between Worrigee Street and Plunkett Street from a sportsground categorisation to “general community use”. At the Milton Showground, the change would apply to the area south of the livestock stalls and west of the indoor basketball stadium. The proposal does not alter land ownership.

Public meetings will be held to allow residents to learn about the proposal and share their views. The Nowra hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, at the Nowra Library Meeting Room, while the Milton Showground hearing will take place on Thursday, November 12, at the Ulladulla Civic Centre. Both meetings will be facilitated by an independent party in accordance with NSW Government processes.
