Shoalhaven offers holiday programs amid rising school break costs

School holiday periods present significant logistical and financial challenges for working families. Costs can accumulate quickly through interest classes, food, outings, and birthday celebrations. For parents where both caregivers work, holiday care is often a necessity, with daily rates reaching approximately $95.

In the Shoalhaven region, various free and low-cost activities are available to engage children. Programs hosted at libraries in Nowra, Sanctuary Point, and Ulladulla include creative workshops such as claymation, mystery writing with Allison Tait, and mural making. Other activities include wildlife presentations, inflatable obstacle courses, and space-themed adventures at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre.
