SHOCart develops detailed new map for Blansko region

Cartographers from SHOCart are developing a highly detailed new map of the Blansko region, covering areas from Blansko and Boskovic to Letovice, Kunštát, and the Moravian Karst. The project aims to capture recent landscape changes and updates to tourist infrastructure more accurately than previous editions.

To ensure precision, the team is conducting four months of field research, visiting municipalities to consult with mayors and local tourism operators. The new map will feature updated hiking and cycling routes, leisure locations, and local services. To improve accessibility, the publisher is using larger fonts and providing legends in Czech, English, Polish, and German.

The physical map will be integrated with a digital component via the CBS Map Explorer mobile application. This app utilizes augmented reality, allowing users to point their phones at the paper map to display detailed information about specific locations.
