In the 67th Oi title match, Sota Fujii successfully defended his title, achieving a seventh consecutive victory by defeating challenger Takumi Ito. The series, held between July and September across various locations in Japan, included a notable fourth game played at the Garden Terrace Nagasaki Hotel & Resort in Nagasaki City.

In the 57th Rookie King tournament, Nagisa Fujimoto (7-dan) secured a victory in the second game of the final three-game match against Daizo Nagai (3-dan). Held at the Shogi Kaikan in Tokyo, the match featured a tense mid-game where Fujimoto utilized strategic rook movements to overcome Nagai's aggressive play. The series is now tied, with the deciding third game scheduled for November 5.
