Shogo Hamada celebrates 50th anniversary with vinyl collection

Japanese musician Shogo Hamada is releasing a 50th-anniversary vinyl collection titled ‘SHOGO HAMADA 50th Anniversary Vinyl Collection’ on October 21, 2026. The release includes four distinct titles: ‘Before the Stream’, a live selection album featuring tracks from the 1980s to the present; ‘ON THE ROAD’, a two-disc reissue of his 1982 release; ‘ROAD OUT “TRACKS”’, which marks the first analog release of the work; and ‘Sho-ka no Koro’, a renewed 45RPM two-disc version featuring a clear light green vinyl.

The ‘Sho-ka no Koro’ release is a self-cover album of 1970s songs, re-arranged by various skilled guitarists including Ginji Ito and Yoshiaki Shirai. The anniversary project also features updated artwork by art director Teruhisa Tajima, who has recreated the original digital-style covers using hand-painted techniques to match the quality of the remastered audio.
