Shogo Hamada concert film ‘ON THE ROAD 1988’ to release in Japan

Rock singer Shogo Hamada’s live concert film, ‘ON THE ROAD 1988’, is scheduled for nationwide theatrical release in Japan starting January 8, 2027.

The film documents the legendary ‘SHOGO HAMADA ON THE ROAD 1988 “FATHER’S SON”’ tour, which took place between 1988 and 1989. The tour featured performances across various venues, including the Yoyogi National Gymnasium First Gymnasium, MZA Ariake, and Nagoya Rainbow Hall.

To prepare the film for modern audiences, original negatives from the various live performances have been 4K digitally remastered and reconstructed with 5.1ch surround sound. The release includes a trailer featuring a performance of the song ‘J. BOY’ and a key visual capturing Hamada performing during the original tour.
