The team is considering a gradual workload increase, which may involve Ohtani pitching single innings in upcoming games, such as during the series against the Detroit Tigers, before returning to a full starting role.

As part of the roster adjustment, the Dodgers have moved Eric Lauer to the bullpen to provide relief depth and a potential piggyback option as Tyler Glasnow rejoins the rotation. The primary goal for the organization is to ensure Ohtani is in optimal condition for the postseason.
