Los Angeles Dodgers prepare for player returns ahead of Padres series

The Los Angeles Dodgers have secured a four-game winning streak following a 3-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants, bringing their season total to 96 wins. Pitcher Eme Sheehan contributed significantly to the win, recording nine strikeouts and pitching 6.2 scoreless innings.

Key players are expected to return from the injured list ahead of the upcoming series against the San Diego Padres. Manager Dave Roberts indicated a “good chance” that Shohei Ohtani will be activated, likely returning exclusively as a designated hitter after completing hitting drills with a Trajekt machine and base running tests. Ohtani has been sidelined since September 8 due to right biceps inflammation and left knee issues.

Additionally, Roki Sasaki is expected to rejoin the team in a relief role for the remainder of the season, having recovered from a blister on his right middle finger. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is also scheduled to start pitching in the Padres series. Outfielder Andy Pages is also targeting a return this week following a hand injury.
